This Advanced First Aid NYC certification class from the American Safety and Heath Institue has replaced the American Red Cross Responding to Emergencies First Aid class, also known as RTE, in our class lineup in 2026.  Advanced First Aid is a comprehensive First Aid training class that meets the New York State Department of Health requirements for Advanced First Aid for Camp Health Officers and Camp Trip Leaders. This American Red Cross Blended Learning First Aid certification course combines a 2.5 hour online learning class with a 1 hour in-person hands-on skills practice and testing session. The Red Cross blended learning course prepares individuals to provide care for a variety of first aid emergencies including choking, heart attack, stroke, anaphylactic shock, life-threatening bleeding, burns, injuries, and more.
